Nissan Altima/Bluebird Review » Nissan Altima/Bluebird
| ||Model of the car:||Nissan Altima/Bluebird|
| ||General comments:||I purchased this car during the first model year. I was a little hesitant about the quality of the Nissan family, having driven a Honda immediately beforehand, but I was impressed that it had been named the 2002 North American Car of the Year -- so I gave it a shot. I was incredibly impressed with the styling and the sleekenss of the exterior. There's no denying that this car's a looker. Plus, driving it for the first time was a real turn-on, too. The 3.5 liter engine in the SE model has a lot of pick up and makes driving so much fun. What sealed the deal for me was the fantastic audio system that comes with the Bose system. |
However, after I'd owned the car for only a few days, I already began to experience remorse. The quality of the interior design was more than a little disappointing. Closing the glove compartment or middle console compartments sounds like shutting the doors in a toy car -- it just sounds "hollow" and plastic.
So far, two years later, I haven't had any major functional problems with my Altima. I did have to take it in twice for repair of the same problem, but once if was fixed, I've had no problems since.
What I loved about the car originally, I still love today. The engine is fantastic, as is the stereo and the exterior styling. But the quality just isn't there.
